Aircraft from Bombardier have a number of characteristics which have not been available on the Icelandic aviation market. They do not need long runways and can for instance take off with a full load from runways approximately 800 meters long. They can withstand greater crosswinds than a comparable aircraft and they can also carry more freight. It is also an option to configure them especially to carry freight.
