Flight, hotel and an evening sailing

Glacier and Inuit Village : 2 day package to Kulusuk, East Greenland

Kulusuk is a small hunter’s village, located on a mountainous island with a population of 250 people. The island is surrounded by ice-filled waters in the least populated part of the country. Kulusuk is only an hour and a half away from Reykjavik Domestic Airport, a perfect add on to your stay in Iceland.

In the settlement, itself there is a focus on offering cultural arrangements such as meetings with local story-tellers, traditional East Greenlandic drum dancing, and visit to the small museum in Kulusuk, highly lauded for an honest depiction of the local Inuit history.

Price from €1.205 pr. person

Itinerary
After the late morning flight over the ice-filled fjords your guide meets you to lead you on 3 km (1,9 miles) village walk. We will visit the charming church and a small family run museum/collection and if we are lucky we will experience a demonstration of a traditional drum dance by one of the local people. We are then headed back to the hotel
where you have free time until after dinner. A short boat trip to the hotel is optional, and a great way to meet the local hunters.
Duration 3 hours

After dinner, your guide meets you again at the hotel lobby, now for a sunset sailing trip to the nearby glacier, Apusiaajik. We will sail between floating icebergs into small inlets of the mountainous Apusiaajik island where we explore the wilderness and historic remains of the Inuit culture. Back on the boat we sail to a fjord where the glacier is majestically calving ice into the sea. After the spectacular show, we sail back to the hotel.
